All
of the rooms are artistically decorated and comfortably
furnished with fine furniture, appropriate artworks
and fittings. Large Georgian Windows face south
out over the market square. The bedrooms have
comfortable beds and white cotton sheets, duvets
and fluffy towels are provided.
The
focal point of the house is the welcoming galleried
hallway and landing, made and airy by a large
arched Georgian paned window which is one of the
many original features to be found at Christmas
Hall.
The
winding hand carved staircase leads to the first
floor accommodation, separated into, The East,
West & South Wings the accommodation comprising
six bedrooms and a bathroom and three shower rooms
with WC’s. A further staircase then leads
to the second floor. Nanny's room is a large double
room and the very large dorm sleeps 5 in 3 single
beds and 1 double.
The
attic dormitory was used by the French students
in the 1950’s and still features the charming
legacy of wall pain tings and art graffiti, which
they left behind. The room adds to the quirky
and homely charm of Christmas Hall. This is particularly
admired by the younger guests who enjoy the social
dormitory atmosphere it provides. |
